Waianapanapa State Park stuns with its black sand beaches, and yellow-greenish landscape. The park surprises visitors with its vast open spaces and long walking distances. Luckily, a fleet of rusty old trucks lets tourists make their way there and back. Amiable and sensible truck operators reminded me of the beauty of simplicity that often does not exist beyond the borders of national parks.
